VUHL 05RR Race Car

VUHL, the road-legal lightweight supercar manufacturer, unveiled its groundbreaking new car - the 05RR - to an exclusive audience in Mexico City. With the performance credentials to rivals its competitors, VUHL's heavily-uprated 05RR is a masterclass in power, finesse and grip. The objective of the project with VUHL and the Bias Brake System Pedal Box Assembly was to design a light weight, ergonomically precise, low maintenance, rotary potentiometer DBW pedal assembly. Utilising a fast and simple production line installation design, Special Ops Ltd worked in collaboration with VUHL to produce a solution that is installed in all the OEM factory built 05RR models.

Ferrari 488 Challenger

The 488 Challenge is a race-ready special model derived from the 488 GTB, a more extreme version of an already formable machine and capable of zero to 60mph sprint in about 2.9 seconds, and on to over 200mph. It has some extra aerodynamic aids, still more weight taken out of the body and software to make the most of its awesome power. The project brief for Special Ops Ltd was to design a protective, durable and light weight battery case, with a built in ventilation system to eliminate explosive gas build up for the One-make racing series by Ferrari. We worked in collaboration with Ferrari & Super B to achieve a commercial solution that is now in all the new Ferrari 488 Challenge Race Cars sold all over the world.

We were approached by the organisers of MINI CHALLENGE UK in 2013 & asked to design & supply components & fully assemble products for the new JCW Series that was introduced in 2015. The F56 JCW is the first purpose built race car to race in the championship, a 2 litre turbocharged BMW engine & a 6 speed sequential gearbox means that it is also the most powerful car in the championship with 275bhp. Throughout the championship's history it has established itself as one of the main routes into Top Line Touring Car racing. Over the years Special Ops Ltd have supplied every race car on the JCW grid with Pedal Assemblies, Hydraulic Fly Off Handbrake Upgrade Kits, Foot Plate, Foot Rests, Braided Brake Hoses, Battery Brackets, ECU Brackets & Reservoir Brackets. We are always working with the MINI CHALLENGE Team developing upgrades & improvements for these fantastic race cars. The quality of the cars has also gained them international recognition, leading to the formation of MINI CHALLENGE series in both Japan and China for 2019.

EXCELR8 Motorsport Founded in 2009 with a determination to succeed combined with high levels of professionalism meant that success was never far away and the team was rewarded with their first MINI CHALLENGE championship in 2010. Another 21 titles have followed, along with numerous championship runner up trophies. The team devotes an enormous amount of effort to optimising its operations and presentation in order to provide a highly professional and marketable platform, and were recognised with a ‘Spirit of the Championship’ Award for the best dressed and most innovative garage during our maiden season in the BTCC in 2019. In keeping with the ambitious nature of the team, and in order to accelerate progress towards their goal to be crowned BTCC champions, EXCELR8 Motorsport will design and build a pair of cars based on the Hyundai i30 Fastback N Performance for 2020, bringing the Korean marque to the BTCC for the first time. Special Ops Ltd has worked on numerous projects with EXCELR8 these include Pedal System for the 24 Hour Endurance Race Cars, Dry Breaker Brake Connectors and Hose Upgrade kits, Front Disc Super Cooling Backplate Design and Manufacture. We are excited to see their continued growth in the highly competitive Motorsport World and will continue to support them as much as we possibly can.
